MOU has been signed between Microsoft Innovation Centre (MIC) Nepal and Acme Engineering College on May 2, 2013 at Acme Engineering College, Kathmandu. The MOU was signed by Er. Pradip Kr Paudyal, Principal of Acme Engineering College and Mr. Allen Bailochan Thuladhar, Country Director of Microsoft Innovation Centre (MIC) Nepal. The MOU will be effective for one fiscal year 2014. On May 2, 2014 the MOU was signed for the second Fiscal Year 2015 between MIC Nepal and Acme Engineering College. The MOU has been renewed for the Fiscal Year 2017. MOU helped Branding of MICNIC as Microsoft Innovation Center Nepal Innovation Cell Acme (MICNIC Acme).

Microsoft will provide Genuine, legal and FREE software for valued Microsoft Innovation Center Nepal Innovation Cells (MICNICs) in Nepal. This facility is provided to all the students, faculty members and staffs through Microsoft Student Partners (MSP) working in each MICNICs.

 MOU Benefits to Academic Institution:

  • Branding of MICNIC: Microsoft Innovation Centre Nepal Innovation Cell Acme (MICNIC Acme)
  • Plaque: Showcase that college is an accredited MICNIC
  • MICNIC Wall: A flex wall for all notices, program information, announcements and technology knowledge to be shared.
  • Academic Administrator’s Alliance: with principals, administrators, campus chief to meet and monitor the program.
  • MICNepal Faculty Connection: MICNIC College will nominate two faculty members.

  • Provided DreamSpark account for the Students and Faculties of the college. DreamSpark is a Microsoft Program that supports technical education by providing access to Microsoft software for learning, teaching and research purposes.
  • Orientation program on Microsoft Office Specialist on May 2, 2013.
  • “Power Your Future” Orientation Day, an exclusive technology event hosted online by Technical Evangelists from Microsoft on Sep 18, 2013.
  • MICNIC Acme organised pre-launch of Windows 8.1 on the college on Sep 26, 2013. This Windows 8.1 Pre-launch event is for letting our students’ community know about this new software before the product is launched worldwide on Oct 17, 2013.

REC@nnect is a partnership led by CRDF Global and the U.S. State Department. In partnership with Microsoft Innovation Center Nepal and Ace Institute we hold the REC@nnect South and Central Asia (SCA) Boot Camp on May 5-7, 2014 in Nepal. ReConnectMicrosoft Imagine Cup is the world’s premier student technology program and competition. It provides an opportunity for student technologists, developers and aspiring entrepreneurs from all academic backgrounds to collaborate, develop a technology application, create a business plan and gain a keen understanding of what is needed to bring a concept to market.

Microsoft Student Partner from Acme Mr. Reman Bala and Ms. Manisha Roka conducted a session on MVA (Microsoft Virtual Academy), Dreamspark and Hour of Code to 1st semester Computer Engineering students on Dec 12, 2014.

MICNIC Acme organized a program on Windows 10: Journey towards one window on Dec 19, 2014 at the college. Mr. Pradeep Kandel from Microsoft Innovation Center (MIC) Nepal presented in the event.
